Intermountain Health Nevada Children’s Hospital

The Intermountain Nevada Children’s Hospital represents a transformative investment in pediatric healthcare, bringing the first and only free-standing children’s hospital to Nevada. As a de novo facility in a market where Intermountain Health does not currently operate a hospital, the project is being thoughtfully planned to deliver a full spectrum of services while allowing for future growth and expansion. The hospital is being designed to create a healing, efficient, and family-centered environment tailored specifically to the needs of children.

 

A comprehensive master planning and programming effort completed in 2022 established the framework for both the hospital and supporting medical office building. The program continues to be refined to align with evolving care delivery needs, including adjusted bed counts, phased clinical growth, and strategic flexibility for future expansion.

 

The project will include a 579,000 SF hospital with 180 inpatient beds, along with additional shelled capacity to support future expansion of key clinical functions. Planned services include neonatal, pediatric, cardiovascular, oncology, behavioral health, and intensive care units, supported by 8 operating rooms, 6 procedural rooms, a 39-room emergency department with trauma capabilities, and advanced imaging services. Comprehensive support areas, including pharmacy, laboratory, central processing, and dining, will be integrated to support efficient operations.

 

The campus will also feature a 117,000 SF medical office building designed to accommodate multiple specialty clinics, diagnostic services, administrative functions, and education and conference space. A 14,000 SF central utility plant will support the overall campus infrastructure, bringing the total development to approximately 710,000 SF.

 

Once complete, this project will establish a new standard of pediatric care in Nevada, expanding access to specialized services and creating a foundation for long-term community health and growth.
