Dignity Health St. Johns Regional Medical Center
COVID-19 Containment Areas

Market | Healthcare

Our PENTA team worked with both St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital facilities to create infection control containments around many areas in the hospital to keep every area fully operational and safe.

Over a two-week period, 25 temporary anti rooms were constructed for the ICU and CCU at two St. John’s locations. Our efforts helped increase the hospital’s ICU capacity from 12 to 81 rooms. It also provided nursing staff the ability to enter a sterile space to suit up before entering patient rooms and desanitize before returning to the public zone.

A trauma room that housed three patient beds in an open area was converted to three separate rooms with full containment around the patient beds. We worked on creating full containment with temporary anti rooms at 40 patient rooms for St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital.

On the exterior of the facilities, planters were removed and the areas were filled with wood to add extra walkway space around the screening tents that have been erected.
